Getting mad at the devil is not nearly enough. We must engage him as warriors of the Most High God!

I was asked once, “What’s the loudest voice in your life right now?”

I could answer it this way: It’s the cacophony of a massive orchestra featuring blaring trumpets of lawlessness, screeching violins of differing opinions, the tubas blasting out anarchy and rebellion, the quiet clarinets feeding false information and the devil banging and clanging every instrument in the percussion section!

 In a mass insurrection against our basic humanity, common sense and decency we seem at war with no end in sight.

And I know who is leading this assault on the entire earth. “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” I Peter 5:8 NIV The Message translation makes this very clear: “This is no afternoon athletic contest that we’ll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels.” Ephesians 6:12 MSG

Are you as angry as I am at the ‘hell on earth’ Satan is propagating? The solution isn’t to become ‘made as hell.’ That only makes things worse. The correct response is to become thoroughly mad at hell and its agenda.

It’s time to quit talking to God about our big problem and begin talking to our big problem about our bigger God! This is not the time for pitiful whiny prayers of complaining. Instead it’s time to “…put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.” Ephesians 6:13 NIV

Shamgar (Judges 3:31) finally got tired of the enemy winning every battle and defeated 600 enemies singlehandedly. David got tired of hearing Goliath’s trash talk and intimidation mess with the legacy and future of God’s people and took the battle to the giant singlehandedly.

Shamgar used an ox goad, David a sling shot…but those are puny beside the weapons of our warfare. We must pray desperately and deliberately to the God who has promised us the victory. When God’s name is openly mocked and the devil believes he’s about to kick the winning field goal and win the world, we place all our hope and confidence in the God of angel armies.

He has never lost a battle and He won’t lose this one! FORWARD ON OUR KNEES!
